Both artists are retrofitters and fabricators, gifted in disassembling and reassembling metal parts into radically unforeseen new wholes, and artists of no other continent have displayed a more ingenious and innovative capacity to reboot and retool the excesses of industrial surplus. In Junkyard Dogs, Africa is the dumpsite and African artists – the diviners. For more information, please visit https://themelrosegallery.com.

If you find yourself in Johannesburg this Spring, there is no better place to feel the delight of the season than at Melrose Arch, just ask Asher Levin, who chose the Precinct as the perfect location for his proposal to his lovely fiancé Shevi. Melrose Arch has become “their place,” from their very first date at the Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch, to holding hands for the first time by the fountain opposite Tiger’s Milk, it seemed a significant spot to pop the question. After committing to forever at the fountain to frequenting Starbucks and Tashas Café as a newly engaged couple, the Precinct served as the sweetest landmark for the next chapter of this beautiful love story.

Asher and Shevi proposal

We look forward to featuring in your signature stories, magical milestones and unforgettable moments in and around the Precinct this season…
