On Mother’s Day, Sunday 12 May, show mom how much she means to you by treating her to a day out at Melrose Arch, enjoying a ballet performance in aid of charity and a delicious lunch on High Street or the Square.
Dancers from the National School of the Arts’ ballet school will perform excerpts from favourite ballets at The Venue on High Street from 12.30pm to 1.15pm. Tickets cost R50 per adult; free for children under 12. All proceeds will be donated to the Smile Foundation, which puts the smiles back on children’s faces with corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments. To book, visit www.smilefoundationsa.org. Tickets will also be on sale at the door on Mother’s Day, subject to availability.
After the ballet, stroll across to your favourite restaurant, have a seat at the long table down High Street or on the Square and order lunch from one of the participating restaurants – Paul, Ono Poké Eatery, Jamie’s Italian, Kauai, Moyo, Ocean Basket, Ghazal and the African Pride Melrose Arch, Autograph Collection hotel’s March Restaurant. (Booking through your restaurant of choice is advisable.) Sit back and enjoy an idyllic autumn afternoon with your loved ones, while relaxing to the soothing sounds of Classic 1027’s string quartet in the background.
