Melrose Arch has a fun-filled Easter weekend planned for children, with rides, games, face painting, an Easter egg hunt and jumping castles lined up.

The Piazza is where the action is, from 11am to 4pm from Good Friday, 30 March to Easter Monday, 2 April. Kids can enjoy rides on a carousel, play giant snakes and ladders, dominoes and pick-up sticks, have their faces painted and be enchanted by a stilt walker, balloon artist and juggler, all at no charge. Easter wouldn’t be Easter without chocolate, so on Sunday, 1 April, there’ll be a free Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny every hour, on the hour, starting at 12pm in and around the Bunnies’ House on the Piazza. There’ll also be jumping castles and a bungee trampoline, and for a nominal fee, kids can jump to their hearts’ content.

Piza ē Vino, also on the Piazza, has Easter fun lined up for the kids too. From now until 2 April, children can enter a colouring-in competition and stand a chance of winning Easter hampers. Piza ē Vino’s  Shake and Bake promotion is always a favourite with kids, allowing them to create their own bambino pizza and enjoy it with a milkshake of their choice. Visit Piza ē Vino during Easter weekend and for just R74, children can order a Shake and Bake and let their inner chef take over.

Melrose Arch’s renowned gourmet market is taking place on Thursday, 29 March and Saturday, 31 March, and visitors will be able to stroll around and buy delectable foods, handmade products and artisanal gifts. Enjoy food from India, Italy and Portugal, among others, or take home some homemade bread, honey, organic cheese, Mediterranean treats like hummus, halloumi and olives, and delicious cold meats for the rest of the long weekend. The market is open from 10am to 3pm on Thursday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday. (The gourmet market will not be open on Good Friday.)

With 26 world-class restaurants and plenty of fun in store for children, Melrose Arch is the perfect destination this Easter!
