World Restart A Heart Day is next Wednesday, 16 October, a day that promotes bystander CPR worldwide. Sponsored by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation, which connects resuscitation organisations worldwide, this awareness day focuses on hands-only CPR training and the importance of immediate action to help save more lives from cardiac arrest globally.
Research shows that CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.
To mark World Restart A Heart Day, Medi Response will be running a Friends and Family CPR training course at the end of October at a specially reduced rate of R360 per person. Visit their stand in the Woolworths court in the Lower Level Galleria on 16 October to find out more about CPR and the course, as well as other training courses they offer, or visit www.mediresponse.co.za. It could mean the difference between life and death!
