Everybody’s favourite pizza and pasta joint now opens when the cock crows and we can’t wait to breakfast like an Italian.
Are you counting calories or joining the clean eating brigade? Then you’re in luck! Piza ē Vino Melrose Arch had you in mind when they were designing their breakfast menu. Seeing as breakfast is the most important meal of the day, visitors can expect to enjoy items such as the Health Geek (a hash brown topped with sour cream, avo, smoked salmon, poached eggs and fresh coriander), Health Nut (a serving of seasonal fruit mixed with granola, yoghurt and a drizzle of honey). Vegetarians are in for a treat as well with French Toast alla Chocolat (French toast topped with banana, toasted almonds, mascarpone and Nutella), and the Summer Poached (avo, roasted cherry tomato, sauteed mushrooms, leeks and feta, all topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce).
Who said breakfast should be bland and boring? The Piza ē Vino brekkie menu sings soprano over creative dishes such as the BLT Benedict (bacon, rocket, grilled cherry tomatoes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce), Piza ē Vino Deluxe (bacon, two eggs, rump steak, mushrooms and grilled tomato with toast) and the breakie Roll (fresh rocket, tomato, bacon, mozzarrella, tomato chutney, fried egg on a crispy burger roll). The little ones are included with a special offering just for them. The Bambino Breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, pork sausage and a portion of hand-cut chips.
Calling all benedict fans! Indulge in a choice of three different types of eggs bennie. Try out the smoked salmon or hickory ham topped with creamed spinach and served on a traditional English muffin. For those weight watchers out there, dig into the goats cheese and garlic roasted brown mushrooms with baby spinach served with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. For brunch Piza ē Vino also serves shashuka (spicy napolitana with green pepper, olives, cherry tomato, fresh basil, served with two poached eggs and ciabatta). Add some spice to your morning and give the heuvos rancheros a try! It consists of spicy bolognese with kidney beans, green pepper, garlic, jalapeno, olives and avo with two poached eggs served with flat bread.
Give your day a kick-start with a beautiful collection of coffee bean based beverages. Cappuccinos, cafe lattes, espressos and macchiatos are at the order of the day when visiting Piza ē Vino. To boot, the eatery also offers a selection of herbal teas, red cappuccino and Belgian hot chocolate. On the colder side of things, visitors can expect a wide selection of fresh fruit juices. For those a bit more adventurous, pair your Piza ē Vino breakfast with a glass (or jug) of mimosa or bloody mary.
