Have you seen the Garden on the Piazza yet? Comprising four smaller gardens, each with its own theme, the Garden on the Piazza was designed by three well-known landscapers.
A picturesque bushveld-style garden, designed by Lyn Foster, highlights the beauty of the African bush and the threat our rhinos face due to poaching. Using SnapScan, Melrose Arch visitors can donate to The Boucher Legacy, an organisation that fights rhino poaching.
Two arid gardens, both designed by The Friendly Plant, focus on the need for South Africans to conserve water. The first features a trendy fire-pit, while the second garden is an Arizona-style creation, with historical elements that take you back in time.
The fourth garden, a collaboration between Grace’s Glory Garden Renovation and Oxford Trellis, pays homage to love. A cosy courtyard featuring a vertical garden, the nook depicts the perfect place for an intimate tête-à-tête.
Beautiful during the day, the gardens are breathtaking at night, when they are enhanced by Christmas lights and illuminated displays. A golden carriage, a Chinese dragon, a picturesque snow scene and cute Christmas characters will delight children, while a canopy of fairy lights over the area creates a magical atmosphere in the area.
The Garden on the Piazza is open until 22 December.
